Freddie’s is a small, independent coffee shop on Fore Street in Ivybridge, Devon.

We opened in February 2025 and we’ve been serving freshly prepared brunch, lunch, coffee and homemade cake to locals and visitors ever since.

The cafe is named after our grandson, Freddie. We wanted a name that felt personal and warm, because that’s the kind of place we set out to create.

Who runs Freddie’s Coffee Shop Ivybridge?

We’re Louise and Dean, and we live here in Ivybridge. Before opening the cafe, Louise ran a nutrition business and worked in HR. Dean runs Maverrik, a social media and social selling business. Between us, we had the food knowledge, the business experience and the drive to build something for our local community.

Opening a cafe had been on our minds for a while. We wanted to create a space where people feel welcome the moment they walk in. Somewhere you pop into for a coffee and end up staying longer than you planned.

What to expect when you visit

Freddie’s is on Ivybridge High Street, right in the heart of town and close to the gateway to Dartmoor. We’re a popular stop for walkers heading onto the moor, families doing the school run, shoppers taking a break, and visitors exploring South Devon.

We serve brunch and lunch from 11am to 2pm, with drinks and homemade cakes available all day. Our coffee comes from Voyager, a local Devon roastery, and everything on the menu is freshly prepared in house.

No need to book. Walk in, grab a free table and order at the counter. Our largest table seats six, so if you’re coming with a bigger group, drop us an email in advance and we’ll sort you out.

Dogs are welcome at Freddie’s Coffee Shop Ivybridge

Freddie’s is dog friendly. Plenty of our regulars bring their dogs in after a walk on Dartmoor or a stroll along the Erme Valley. Your dog is welcome to join you while you eat, have a coffee or share a slice of cake. We’re used to having four legged visitors and we like it that way.

Catering for events and private gatherings

Alongside the cafe, we offer private catering and event catering. If you’re organising a meeting, birthday, baby shower, funeral reception or wedding, we prepare freshly made platters, bakes and coffee with the same care and quality you’d find in the cafe. You order, we prepare everything, and your food is ready for collection or local delivery.

For larger events like weddings and corporate functions, we work with you on menu planning, timings and on site service where needed.

Where to find us

Freddie’s Coffee Shop is at 40 Fore Street, Ivybridge, PL21 9AE. We’re open Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 3pm. Closed on Sundays.

You can reach us by email at info@freddieskitchen.co.uk or find us on Facebook and Instagram.

View our menu to see what delicious food you would like to order

Come and say hello. We’ll put the coffee on.
